Fable (a.k.a Bern)

Fable (a.k.a Bern)

Just wanted to give you all an update on Fable (Bern) who was adopted from the Mechanicsville PetSmart by us a few weeks ago!  Fable is doing wonderful and has adjusted to life at the Davis household!  He LOVES his other furry siblings (a tabby formerly named Cleopatra…now called Halo, adopted from VCC PetSmart last year, a Beagle and a Boston Terrier).  Fable is what we call a “ground kitty” and he prefers lying on rugs and pet beds versus getting up on the furniture like Halo does.  It’s not uncommon for me to wake up to see Fable lying on my husband’s chest purring up a storm and getting sleepy scratches.  His favorite thing to do is take our spot in the bed after we get up (since it’s all toasty for him already!!) for work in the morning.  He loves sunbathing and has recently begun cuddling w/our dogs.  He and Halo have taken to running around at top speeds like two horses right before bed time and play wrestling for several rounds.  Halo always wins.  We love our kitties and thank you very much for the opportunity to be their masters for a few years!! Thank you for all you do!...

Mr. Chip helps out at Pearson’s Corner

Recently, Pearson’s Corner Elementary School embarked on a school-wide reading campaign on January 11, 2010.   To kick-off the event, the school organized several assemblies  where the children met “Chip”, a former Hanover Humane Society pup. The children learned about Chip, his mom, and his brother and sisters who all were in Hanover Humane’s foster program. The children asked “Chip” questions, and then he walked around to meet all of them in the assembly hall.   As a show of thanks, the children gifted “Chip” with some goodies that he could share with Hanover Humane’s foster animals.  “Chip” enjoys going out in public to meet people and share information about Hanover Humane’s Adoption, Education, and Prevention Programs.  He’s had a number of “speaking” engagements recently with several more planned over the next months.   If you’d like to meet “Chip” and have him come to your special event, birthday party, etc. please email him at info@hanoverhumanesociety.org to obtai more...

Baylee

Thanks for letting us adopt Baylee (a.k.a. Chloe).  She is a great addition to our family.  As you can see from the photos, she is fitting into the family nicely.  Baylee is enjoying life with us and the comfort of the couch.  Tank is enjoying his new friend and is showing her the ropes.  They both like to go outside and chase each other and then come inside and chase each other some more.  We are looking forward to the summer to see how she likes the water at our place in Northern Neck Virginia.  Hopefully, she will enjoy it as much as Tank does.  Baylee is a well-behaved dog and is a good listener.  She is also very loving to all her meet her. Thanks again for a terrific dog! Sincerely, Jim and Pam Neuens Hello Everyone, Here are some recent photos of Baylee.  She’s not quite sure about the water but we willl continue to work with her to see if her Lab instincts kick in.We didn’t get a chance to see if she likes boat rides as it was a little too windy out this past weekend. Baylee’s main interests are squirrels and rabbits and loves her walks.  When I took her in to get her Lyme vaccination, she weighed 63 pounds. So Baylee is doing great and she is loved by all her know and meet her. Take care, Pam and...

Lucy (a.k.a Peppermint Patty)

Lucy has been such a gift to me. I feel so fortunate to have been given the opportunity to adopt such an awesome dog and to have worked with such a fantastic organization as Hanover Humane. I’m also forever grateful for Kristy who gave of her time to foster the litter because as we all know, even one puppy is a serious committment, much less 6 plus Mom!   She is a saint for saving all those little lives.  Pictured is Lucy (aka Peppermint Patty) and Katie Dawn, her mom!
